If the internet light is out on your modem and/or router, the internet service itself probably isn't working.
Before calling your internet provider you can try restarting your modem (if applicable) and router.
If that doesn't help, contact your the support line for your internet provider.
If your internet seems slower than usual, first verify that this is the case on more than one device. (You want to do this in case it is just a problem with that one device.)
If it is more than one device, try restarting your modem (if applicable) and router.
If that doesn't solve it, call your internet provider to do the following:
- Have them verify the speed for which you are paying
- Ask them how you can verify that speed in your home
- They will likely help you connect a computer up directly so that the speed can be tested at the source.
- Try to keep them on the phone when you're doing this so they can help you if you run into any problems.
